Guesstures Theme
At Capital One, I created a bizarre, high-energy monthly game show that built recognition into the team’s day-to-day by offering them a simple sentence to complete: “I want to appreciate [this person] for [this thing they did]. Every submission would put that person on a virtual wheel, which I would spin during a ten-minute gathering each month, giving winners the chance to choose from a pool of …”intriguing” prizes. One month, one of the prizes was a pocket microscope. You could connect it to your phone, and the guy that won it, Ian, started uploading photos to Slack every now and then to let people guess what household object he was magnifying. It became such a hit amongst the team, that at the end-of-year variety show I put together, I created a live gameshow version, and this was the theme I created for it.
